There’s a thief (I have a problem spelling this word, keep writing it as “theif“) from my cabin in camp because my money has been stolen twice. The first time when I found out about it last month was when I was calculating my expenses for the week and realised I had $7 missing.

Yes, I keep track of my expenses with the help of an accounting software.

So, thinking that I had some expenses which I have overlooked (which is almost impossible), I brushed this $7 off by classifying it under “Unjustified Loss” under my accounts.

And then, it happened again last Friday. I had $20 in my wallet in the morning and by the evening, there was only one $10 note left. I didn’t do anything that day other than to observe the people in my cabin.

I didn’t want to make such a big issue over this incident so on Sunday night, I announced to everyone in my cabin that there’s a thief (Sucks, I wrote “theif” again) in our cabin and told everyone to be careful with their belongings. I also explained how I keep track of my expenses to most of them.

I’m now sure that whoever that person is, won’t touch my stuffs again. That announcement wasn’t really to tell everyone to be careful with their stuffs but to tell the culprit that I know about my loss.

Feeding my little brother kind of reminded of the time where I fed the goats at the Singapore Zoo.

Everybody just wants food in their mouths at the end of the day.

My 7 months old Sony Ericsson G700 has gotten a life of it’s own since last week. It’s now able to unlock by itself and starts calling people randomly – and even send SMSes to people in my contact list. I have already reinstalled the firmware and it doesn’t seem to be the solution.

I’m really sorry if I call you repeatedly (at 4am in the morning) only for you to find that it’s all quiet at the other end of my line. I’m really sorry if I send you blank SMS too.

It seems like I have to break my bank account and replace it with a new phone. Bloody hell, I’m sick of my gadgets dying on me.

A group of us took a Comfort Cab, SHA2131S, at around 3.15pm on Monday (12 July) wanting to head back to camp from Yishun. Having took a cab to the same destination from the same place countless of times, we were surprised when the taxi driver took a change of route from the usual one.

The red arrow was the way he went while the green arrow shows the normal route we always went.

We asked the driver why didn’t he go by the other route to make sure and his responded by telling us going by this way (his way) is also possible. He later said that the other way was “easier to run” since it’s an expressway while the current one has more traffic lights.

In the first place, why did he go by the route with more traffic lights instead of the faster expressway? He then asked us if we wanted to go back by the expressway route.

Since we’re already on his route and it would be a hassle to turn back, I told him to continue his way. Turns out that the current one he is taking goes on a big detour. Another guy whom we were supposed to meet but was late has already reached the camp even though we board the cab first.

What would be a simple 25 minutes journey became a 35 minutes of trying not to blow up. Since he claimed that the expressway was “easier to run” while the current one has more traffic lights, why did he not go by the expressway route?

The route in red was the extra places in went instead of the usual blue one. A normal $21 journey became a more than $26.

I’m still thinking if I should inform Comfort and the Land Transport Authority regarding this matter. I’m not asking for any benefits in return, I just want to make sure this cab driver’s behaviour is known to the relevant authorities.

And so, I have completed my Basic Military Training for three months now and I’ve also watched Toy Story 3 on the day of it’s release in Singapore.

I finally found a sling bag which I liked (even though it wasn’t exactly what I wanted) and also had my computer fixed. The only thing I didn’t fulfil in the previous wishlist was the iPod Touch, which I replaced with a Playstation Portable.

URBANEARS MEDIS

The Urbanears Medis earphone is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen. Though this isn’t really at the top of my wishlist, it would be really cool if I own one.

Blackberry recently released a new non-camera model of their legendary phones, the Blackberry Bold 9000. Who wouldn’t want such a useful gadget in their pockets? This is currently at the top of my wishlist.

A Panasonic LX3. I’ve managed to tried out this camera a few times and I really must say it has to be one of the best compact digital cameras out there in the market right now. With photo quality almost comparable to a DSLR, this is a must have for photography lovers.

Lastly, I just want to get the hell out of this country for a breather really soon.

Update: Damn, I just realised my current wishlist will cost a bomb to fulfill.

It’s like a little déjà vu from two years back, where I also bought a MP3 Player even though I had a PSP – except, this one’s cooler.

This is getting dangerous, I can’t believe my younger brother has much more popularity than me. Why doesn’t anybody gets me to upload video of myself?

For those who cannot understand the language of a five year old, let me translate what he meant: Joseph Ang is the coolest guy in the world.

Many of you know that I used to own the latter about two years back but I damaged it unwillingly. Before I enlisted, I gave my MP3 Player to my sister and that leaves me with nothing to accompany me on the long bus rides I have to endure.

Even the imaginary friend that I used to chat with has also vanished into thin air.

So, I’ve been asking around for opinions about the both options and they weren’t very helpful because both of the choices sounds really good. Both has games, Wi-Fi surfing, music player and many more applications that you can use.

But after thinking about it for the past few weeks, I’ve made up my mind.

In terms of design, the iPod Touch has a much more sleeky appearance and it’s also easier to be carried around because of it’s size. But it terms of entertainment, I think the Playstation Portable offers a wider range of variety (maybe it’s because I don’t really like touch screen games).

The deciding factor was, however, the price. The PSP is so much cheaper than the iPod Touch. And so ladies and gentlemen, introducing to you my new friend – my new Playstation Portable.

Little Talk: Have you checked out my new sideblog?

I finally got back home after a long week in camp only to realised that my sister has brought her laptop with her on her overseas trip.

My own desktop computer has died a few months back and I haven’t found the budget and time to get it fixed. And that leaves me with my father’s junk laptop which I’m typing on right now.

The reason why I call it junk is because I cannot find any other words to describe how slow this piece of crap is. Can you imagine waiting for five minutes for this thing to boot up, before waiting for another five for it to load Internet Explorer?

Just to prove my point further, it took slightly more than a minute for it to load up a tab and an additional two to finish loading my Gmail account.

For your information, I don’t really want to use Internet Explorer (I want my Google Chrome) but only God knows how long this machine will take if I tried to install Google Chrome on it.

This has officially prompted me to wake up early in the morning tomorrow and head down to Sim Lim Square to get the parts of my desktop PC fixed.

Let’s see how long will it take for this page to load after I click the ’Publish’ button.

Update: My super computer is now back up and running beautifully.
