Toy Story 3

17 Jan

Since I can’t really blog much about what we do in camp, I shall try my best to update my blog whenever I book out with some other content.

Two weeks back, I shared my favourite song. This week, I will be sharing a movie which I’m most looking forward to which will be coming out this year. Yes, if you know me well enough – it’s Toy Story 3.

Official trailer for the movie after the break.

NASA Ares I-X Launch

29 Oct

Just witness the launch of NASA’s Ares I-X live an hour ago on NASA TV. Well done NASA, it was very beautiful. I always loved reading up about other countries and the outer space is definitely something that interests me.

Have been following the launch since yesterday, which was cancelled due to the bad weather. There were a lot of delays today too due to triboelectrification issues. My patience finally paid off when they were cleared for launch at 11.30pm (Singapore Time).

For those of you who missed it, here’s a recorded video of it.

Beautiful isn’t it?

City Alive 2009: DJ KoFlow

21 Jan

This is a follow up post for the City Alive 2009 event on 31 January 2009.

There will be a total of three well-known DJs mixing at the event and I’ve decided to share more about DJ KoFlow. Main reason is because he’s a Singaporean and I believe in supporting local talents. So who really is he?

Wayne Liu aka DJ KoFlow, having started DJing and competing in 2001. He was placed 1st Runner Up at the Singapore DMC Technics World DJ Championships 2002. He maintained his hard work, and continued to win numerous awards.

He was given honourable mention for Juice Magazine Best New DJ 2003 / Best Independent DJ 2004, named Best Musician at the Nike StreetStyle Awards in 2004,  and won the Heineken Thirst Singapore 2005.

His uniquely versatile and all rounded performance style had seen him playing opening acts for international artists such as Missy Elliot, Akon, The Black Eyed Peas and recently Kanye West for his ‘Glow in the Dark Tour”.

Recognized for his distinctive technicality, local radio station 98.7fm invited DJ Koflow to do a 15 week, one-hour show on the prime time slot, for the Moto Music show.

DJ Koflow was featured on Channel U for the Renci Charity Show 2007, that has seen him producing and scratching to his own song.

You can check out some of his music over here and be sure to catch DJ KoFlow live this month end at the City Alive event

Event: City Alive 2009

11 Jan

Little Talk: Using adult fare for transport when I’m still a student – that’s freaking expensive!

Update: Read about the actual event!

This coming month end on the 31st of January 2009, the City Hall Front will be transformed into a mega dance floor. That’s because of City Alive 2009, held in conjunction with the annual Chingay Parade! So what really is City Alive?

City Alive promises to be the biggest and funkiest street party in Singapore and with international DJs such as DJ Sassy Pandez, DJ Sarasa, Singapore’s very own DJ KoFlow playing the beats – you can expect a night of adrenaline rush as you witness the city coming alive.

There would be lots of fun if you’re really into Hip Hop Dance because you’ll see teams from Funkamania battling it out for supremacy.

I would like to thank the people at SPRG for presenting me the opportunity to attend this event and I believe it would be a great experience for me since it would be my first time attending an event like this.

A host of fringe activities such as Strike Force Percussion, Mega Stilt Walkers, Dance Ambassadors & Party Mascots to take pictures with party-goers will enhance the party engagement.

For those of you who’re interested, you can get your advance tickets for $20 ($15 if you’re a Passion Card Member) at any Community Club / Centre or SISTIC Outlets. Ticket includes one free drink and you have to be at least 18 to attend.

Come join me in the party with the international DJs, food and drinks and most importantly – everyone else!

Threadless T-Shirts Sale

3 Jun

Little Note: Shoots! I just remembered I’ve Crossway course on 28 June and it clashes with my backpacking trip. Hope that I will be able to change the date.

Threadless is having a sale for their shirts right now, and at the same time, I’m broke. I think I shall give this sale a miss and wait for the next one. My daily survival and backpacking trip is much more important.

If you’ve got the money, it’s a good time to check them out though.
