Putting My Feet Back On The Ground
I went for my driving lesson today, getting ready to brush up on my skills or pick up something new.
Everything started out smooth as usual as I drove out of the pick-up point and I felt pretty impressed with myself after I got through a few obstacles. But this form wasn't meant to last as I stalled the vehicle when I wanted to move off from the traffic junction.
I always see myself as a person who does things really well and I smugly thought I could really control the vehicle well by doing things which I'm not familiar with yet - really quickly. Things ultimately went downhill for the rest of the lesson from there as I forgot the basics when I wanted to excel quickly.
There's a really good saying, I want to run before I even learn how to walk. That over-confidence in myself has brought me more harm than good today.
Time to put my feet back on the ground and tell myself that I'm not that awesome afterall.
